Our commitment
LendLadder Finance(“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your personal information and credit-related information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code.
Information we collect
To provide broking services we may collect your name, contact details, identification, financial position, employment, assets and liabilities, and credit history. We collect this from you directly, and — with your consent — from lenders, credit reporting bodies and other third parties.
How we use it
- To assess your needs and objectives and recommend suitable credit.
- To prepare and submit applications to lenders on your behalf.
- To meet our legal, regulatory and licensee obligations.
- To keep in touch about your loan and reviews, where you agree.
Disclosure
We may disclose your information to lenders and their insurers, our aggregator and licensee, credit reporting bodies, the technology providers we use to collect and prepare applications (including Middle — see below), and professional advisers, strictly as needed to provide our services. Where you ask us to introduce you to an insurance adviser, financial adviser or buyer’s advocate, we share only what you agree to share with them. We do not sell your information.
Forms on this website
The enquiry, credit profile, review and partner forms on this site are delivered to us by email through a third-party form-handling service. Anything you type into those forms passes through that provider before it reaches us. The forms do not write to a database on this website, and no credit check is performed by this site at any point.
Please don’t submit identity documents, payslips, bank statements or account numbers through a website form. If we need supporting documents, we will tell you how to send them securely.
The online fact find (Middle)
The “start your fact find” links on this site take you to Middle, an Australian technology provider Adriana uses to collect loan application information. Middle is a separate company and its own privacy terms apply to what you enter there — the collection notice is linked on its first screen, and we encourage you to read it before you begin.
Unlike the forms above, the fact find is designed to receive identification, income and financial detail. Information you provide to Middle is made available to us so we can prepare your application, and is handled from that point under this policy.
Photos and videos you upload with a review
If you attach a photo or video to a review, the file is uploaded from your browser to a third-party cloud storage service and stored there. It is not emailed to us as an attachment; we receive a link to it.
Those files are stored at a long, randomly generated web address. Anyone who has that address can open the file without signing in, so please only upload something you would be comfortable being seen publicly — and please don’t include documents, other people’s faces without their agreement, or anything showing your address, licence, or account details.
We use the file only to decide whether to publish your review and, if you agree to it going up, to display it alongside the review. You can ask us to delete an uploaded file at any time by contacting us using the details below, and we will remove it from storage.
Overseas recipients
Some of the providers we and our licensee rely on — for example cloud hosting, email, document storage and customer-relationship systems — may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, as required by APP 8.
The countries in which those recipients are likely to be located, and the specific providers involved, are determined by our licensee’s systems. Contact us at adriana.fernandez@lendladderfinance.com for the current list before you provide your information if this matters to you.
Access, correction & complaints
You may request access to, or correction of, the information we hold about you by contacting us at adriana.fernandez@lendladderfinance.com. If you have a privacy concern, please see our Complaints page for how to raise it and how to escalate to the OAIC.
